The Washington Park UMC Preschool offers a developmentally appropriate play-based learning program. We believe that children are naturally inquisitive and learn best in an environment that nurtures their creativity and curiosity while providing a safe, secure and stimulating place to learn and grow. Our focus is on the whole child – body, soul, and spirit.

Our Program

Children ages 12 months (and walking) through five years old may participate in the program, which is available Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. We have Before and After Care (BAC) available from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Our school term is from September to May. Our summer term is from June to August. (Please see our calendar). WPUMC Preschool complies with all standards required by the Colorado statute, Rules Regulating Child Care Centers (7.702), set in place by the Colorado Department of Human Services, Division of Child Care. Each classroom utilizes a developmentally appropriate curriculum that is based upon Jean Piaget’s play-based approach to learning. Children construct knowledge as they play, experience and interact. Our learning plans reflect this play-based philosophy in the areas of emergent math and literacy, science, music, creative movement and art.
