Announcing Two Free Community Yoga Classes with Jimmy Smrz starting October 12, 2015.
Mondays at 10:00 a.m. -- All levels vinyasa flow
This class links the breath with the pose to create a continual flow of movement, a vinyasa. The emphasis of this class is on refining and building endurance. Basic principles of alignment and movement through the poses (asanas) are practiced. This class is suitable for all levels including beginners.
Tuesdays at 7:00 p.m. -- Yin and Restorative
Yin is the practice of holding poses for longer periods of time and allowing the deeper tissues in the body to relax and let go. Restorative is a deeply healing practice similar to yin, only more supportive for the body in order to allow shifts to occur in their own time. This class is a beautiful combination of both techniques and will leave your body and mind open, flowing and relaxed.
Jimmy Smrz completed the 200-hour certification under teachers Katrina Gustafson, Lisa Thesis, and Saul David Raye at Karma Yoga Center. The most rewarding part of sharing yoga for Jimmy is helping individuals resistant to spirituality, find paths to spiritual healing. He shows how yoga effects the brain and mental health through basic lessons of neurotheology (the neuroscience of spiritual practices). He is the creator of Yoga Gumbo, an alternative yoga program combining traditional elements of yoga with modern meditations, practices, and technology, in a fun class about celebrating life and love for the world and ourselves.
Jimmy teaches Yoga Gumbo at Karma Yoga Center On Thursdays at 6:30 p.m. Karma Yoga is located at 1705 S. Pearl, Denver. First class at Karma is FREE for Denver residents.
