Pastor's Message Good Morning WPUMC Family and Friends! This weekend NPR put out a ranking of summer activities based on their rate of riskiness, click HERE to view it. It's a good article for all of us to consider what activities are safe for our families this summer. You'll note, upon reading, that attending a worship service indoors is a very high-risk activity. This is for lots of reasons- some we can control and some that we cannot. Know that your church staff, leadership, and I are thinking and planning carefully through risk factors in consideration of alternative activities and ways to begin coming together at some point. It's important to me that we are careful, intentional, and- above all- safe. Let's remember that over the last few months, the church has never closed! Our building has limited hours and we have suspended in-person worship and activities, but we have continued essential worship, service, and ministry throughout this time. We will continue to do so. I read another article (please click HERE) about how the "church" remains open even when the building is closed that I invite you to read and consider. Let me know how you've experienced the church's openness during this pandemic time. I care about you and hope the church is a part of what keeps you grounded and balanced these days. If you were unable to join us live on Sunday, you can still worship with WPUMC through THIS link. To hear the scripture from Sunday's service, read by Carl Mikesell, watch below. Peace and love, Rev. Sandi ![]() The Land The Land is an outdoor faith community in Aurora dedicated to nourishing sacred relationships between the Creator and all of Creation. They do this by fostering a community garden space and participating in partnerships that advance justice in our community, specifically food accessibility and environmental awareness. This summer, they have offered us the opportunity to help care for the garden. If you are interested in helping out as an individual or a family, please click HERE. For more information, follow THIS link to visit The Land's website, or email Rev. Jamielee (assocpastor@washparkumc.org). Thank you! Giving and ministry quick links
