Habitat Update from our November Fundraiser Mission Focus

In the month of November, we focused on our mission with Habitat for Humanity. During the Sunday services, we spoke about the:

• Involvement of WPUMC with Habitat for Humanity Metro Denver.
• Multiple types of outreach and programs in which Habitat is involved.
• Challenges they experienced during the pandemic.
• Process for families to get selected to partner with Habitat.
• Ways in which we can support Habitat in the month of November.
• Importance of home - especially in the pandemic.

As a part of this focus, we had an opportunity to volunteer at a Habitat build site. Thanks so much to Brad Baker, Tom Mann, and Carol Nelson who participated in that build! In addition, thanks to Chris Mikesell who generously donated thank you gift bags to the volunteers and Habitat staff on site!
In November, we also conducted our annual Habitat fundraiser to support Habitat's work and mission - especially in this challenging time. Many families donated, and one person's employer provided a 2:1 matching donation for $500. Our total for this month's fundraiser was $2100.00! Although this total was short of our $5,500 goal, we were very pleased with the generosity our congregation showed. Thank you for your kindness and continued support.

Lenten Book Study

Join Rev. Sandi and Rev. Jamielee for a virtual Lenten Study on Wednesday evenings from 5:30-6:30pm on the book Entering the Passion of Jesus: A Beginner's Guide to Holy Week by Amy-Jill Levine. This six-week study will start on February 24th and last through March 21st. Click here to sign up.

Fellowship Groups

As a community of faith, we are accustomed to being able to gather with one another for fellowship! In this pandemic time, we have to look to new and different ways of staying connected. One opportunity for you is to join one of our new online Fellowship Hour Groups. We have four different groups starting in January--each has a different team of leaders and will have a different approach for the time, but all are meant to develop deep, supportive relationships with one another that will hopefully last well past the COVID-19 crisis. These groups will meet monthly from January through May, and then reassess the needs of the group. Click HERE to learn more!
