Thank you to all of you who have turned in your pledge for giving in 2021. We are a stronger, healthier church because of your commitment to financially supporting our ministries. WORSHIP: If you were unable to join us live yesterday, you can still worship with us by using THIS link. SCRIPTURE: To hear Sunday's scripture, read by Tracy Owen, click Play below: Appreciation for John Golden, WPUMC Operations Manager We announced recently that John Golden, our WPUMC Operations Manager, will be relocating to the east coast to attend to family concerns. He will still be with us on staff through October, and the SPRC invites you to show your care and appreciation for his good year of work with us. Please use this link: https://www.kudoboard.com/boards/PeFpPPT4 to leave John a message or video of thanks on Kudoboard. Additionally, if you'd like to add to a monetary gift for John, please Venmo your gift to michelle-hoskins-17. The deadline for submitting messages or gifts is Wednesday, October 28th. Welcoming Our New Operations Manager We have hired Katie Daugherty as our new Operations Manager. She will begin training in the office with John this week! Watch for a fuller introduction and welcome for Katie in next Monday's email. ![]() Habitat for Humanity There is still an opportunity to volunteer with Habitat for Humanity before the end of 2020! As a part of the November focus on our Habitat for Humanity mission, join other WPUMC members at a Habitat site on Sat. Nov. 21st. Together we will work as a small group on the Swansea home site, which is close to I70 and York Street. To ensure safety measures are followed (e.g., masks, social distancing, hand-washing stations, etc.), Habitat is working with small groups of volunteers at selected sites. Fortunately, they were able to set aside six volunteer slots for our congregation. Volunteers at any skill level are welcome to join our group. *You must be at least 16 years old on new construction sites. No matter what you do on build day, you will make a difference for a very deserving and hard-working family. And what an amazing way to give back right before the Thanksgiving holiday! To register for the WPUMC volunteer day on Sat. Nov. 21st, click HERE. If you have questions about volunteering or about Habitat for Humanity, contact Carol Nelson at customtrainingllc@Q.com or call 303.810.4635. You'll also learn more about our partnership with Habitat for Humanity in upcoming newsletters and church services. Thank you for your interest in and support of this important mission for WPUMC! ![]() Thanksgiving Donation Drive This year, WPUMC will conduct a non-traditional personal care drive for Thanksgiving. For this, we have partnered with FISH of East Denver to identify the most needed donations for the families they serve. Below is a list of items that are being requested. There is a bin in the Narthex for drop-offs at the church, however we do ask that you kindly avoid coming by the church during the high traffic Preschool drop-off and pick-up times (9:15-9:45am and 2:15-2:45pm) Monday-Friday. There will also be two Saturdays where families can drive-thru at the church with your donations. Those dates are 10/24 and 11/7. Volunteers will be on site from 10am-12pm to accept your donations. List of Requested Items (both travel and full-sized options)
